Please note, I am not an expert in these matters... so I apologise in advance if it takes me a bit to get up to speed.
My organization uses a Meridian Option 61C as our switchboard. It seems like users who utilize the opertaor in order to dial internationally may not have their calls hang up correctly, leaving the line open for up to an hour. The issue is not with the phone company, so we are trying to discover if this might be a systemic problem with the Meridian system.
I have been seeing there seems to be some issues with DISA and Looping with the Meridian systems. We are not using DISA, though it may have something to with the supervision of the C.O. when in a loop.
Is this possible? Any advice on how to troubleshoot?

Opt 61C programming is very capable in all aspects of trunking. ALot depends on how your programmed, vintage of software, vintage of cards, types of trunks (PRI,T1,Loop,Ground ect..)Unfortunately if you are not fimiliar with programming it can be quite overwhelming. Be more than happy to assist remotely in your configuration.

Operating remotely probably is not viable at this point, thanks for the offer though! I'll see if I can get some info on our Trunk type and software...
That said, is it possible for my scenario to occur? There is some debate in the office that such an event could occur through the use of the Meridian system. I have been tasked with seeing is it is, indeed, possible (since eveny one is swamped right now). If it is possible, can you suggest the most likely reasons why the calls are not hanging up correctly? Is this most likely a Trunking problem?

Please fill out your posting profile. We have no idea if you are in Indiana or Australia. CO trunking works differently across this great blue globe. A little more info can result in more enduser specific info. Also type of trunks...analog,T1,PRI,etc. ------------------ Business Phone Systems
