1. 2000 ft dependant on wire gauge. I have pushed further.
2. Rls 25 did support 5 cabinets. Unless you have the licensed TN platform to support additional TNs in a 3 cabinet config you are out of luck. Nortel is no longer doing TN additions on pre rls 25 systems. Best to buy a refurb Rls 25 SSC card with the TNs to get your expansion.
Check with some of our Canadian counterparts to confirm but I don't think Canadian systems were locked into ISM limits. I buy them all the time out of Canada with 1000 TNS.

1>any idea on the max you have pushed it? he's wanting to move a cabinet and maybe push them at least a 1/2mi. i'm thinking that is too far (2600-3000' is what i'm guessing)
2>anything special about the ssc card? does it have the extra spaces for the other 2 sets of fiber?
he's going to have to do something. he's out of tn's.

Somebody can tell me if I am thinking of the right thing here. But I thought you could take one of the cabinets and put it at a remote locations miles away. It connects back to the main units through a special card or circuit of some type. Anybody know what I am talking about or have better info??

Yes NT, you're right. You can connect a remote cabinet with fiber but if all he wants to do is add 1 or 2 stations it's not very economical...
I don't know much about the whole TN lisence thing.

I have pushed some of these sets 3000'. The SSC needs to be version D or later for more than 2 cabinet expansion additions. You can do fiber remote cabinets but then again it depends on if the archeitecture fits your site. Everything has to line up just right for the remote cabinet to work out in your favor. Example you have to fit all the sets at one site in the main cabinet. If the number of sets exceeds the main cabinet then cards running those sets would be at the remote location and not do much good.
