you can shut it down no problem , as for the lines i am assuming it is a cics or mics they would go on the white/blue,and white orange pairs or the 25 pair trunk cable going to your system

Ok thanks. The last time I pulled power my system defaulted but it was a samsung idcs100. So pulling the power cord will not loose data. Also I screwed up and disconnected the voice mail from the 66block is there a set position on the block. I beleive it's the voice mail it's a two port card that is on the bottom of the NAM with rj11 connectors plugged into the card and then were punch down on the block. I thought they were extensions out to the workstations but were not. Thanks very much for the help

Let me clarify a little. To power down a Norstar, you pull the plug. There is NO power switch, so thats the only way to power down. That has nothing to do with losing data. You can potentially lose data (default the system) whenever power is removed. It all depends on the condition of the capacitors in the system (and NVRAM cart. if applicable), that provide the power needed to retain the customer database while the system is without power. There is NO GUARANTEE that you will not lose data.

Thanks. I guess we will see. Can you help me with the 2 lines that go from the card with to rj11 ports to the 66 block. I thought they were extensions out to the workstations and found out the hard way they were done to the card in the system. Thank you again

The connections that run to the NAM do terminate on regular digital station ports. If you want the system to work the way it did before, you will need to put the wires back EXACTLY where they were. Otherwise, they can go anywhere, and you can reprogram accordingly.
