I have 2 BCM 50e units installed at 2 locations which are tied together via voip. I am only using the router in each system as a gateway. Location B gets dialtone from location A. Location A has the PRI and calls get routed to location B just fine. Problem: After 15 minutes the call gets dropped nad it doesn't matter if it's inbound or out. Local phones at location A which are using the local PRI do not drop when using the PRI. A network connection to location B onsite or not through element manager does not drop even after 15 minutes. A network connection to location A onsite or not through element manager drops after 15 minutes. What am I missing?

It sounds to me like you are having IP address conflicts and collisions.

BigD,

If you're only using the BCM's router as a gateway, do you have another broadband router handy? I'd swap a cheap Linksys in there just to see if the BCM's router is the problem. I have a 50e installed in my home, and have moved away from the built-in router due to some connectivity issues.

Good Luck!

I moved the network connection from port 1 to port 4 and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!

Update: The problem returned the next day! Nortel has released a patch that fixes a memory leak and the system has been doing fine for about a week now.
