Hello, any guidance is appreciated, as I am a novice when it comes to the phone system...
I am trying to setup a voicemail box that does not have a physical phone extension. I have been successful in the past but recently have not had success. If I set up a voicemail box in this fashion, I am able to get to it on-site but cannot off-site. When I dial the backdoor number and try to log in from an outside line, I am told that the voicemail box cannot be accessed by an outside line.
Recently, we were a victim of toll fraud. The technician that came out eliminated the voicemail's access to the pool lines. Would this result in the mail box created without a phone extension not being accessible through an outside line?
Would there be a better setup to allow access to the voicemail box from an outside line and still be able to prevent outbound transfers?
Thank you.

The mailbox must be initialized before it is accessable from the outside world.

There is a setting to allow external initialization.
