I'm going to be putting in an SMDR6, and I think the user may benefit from using a PC based accounting program. Any recommendations for a fairly simple, fairly inexpensive, reliable program? Ideally, they would like to be able to track and generate reports on call volume to various extensions, including both incoming and outgoing calls, and time on each call. Thanks!

I like Microcall and they are great to work with. I think they are based in Atlanta. The reports are easy for customers to use also.

You may also check into "call cruncher" if it suits your needs. It isn't a PC based SMDR package, it works over the internet so who ever is checking call records can do so from anywhere. It definitely isn't for everyone but it has really worked for two of our customers giving excellent flexibility. You can find out more at www.callcruncher.com. As far as on-site PC based call accounting software we have set up three or four units using Comm One software which is fairly configurable and decently priced. You can find out more on that one at www.commone.com. Hope this has been helpful to you.
