Here is a challenge for all of you challenge seekers on here! We have a customer with a MICS with 5.0XC software, with a SMDR6 with the current firmware 2.5 Release (WI02.19) This is an attorney firm, so that code all calls for billing clients.
Now here's the issue: When one or more users access feature 900 and enter their code, the code appears on other phones accessing feature 900. Strange isn't it. We actually kind of stumbled on this when we were called out by the customer stating they were not able to enter their codes. We did a test and sure enough we made two call simulanteously, did feature 900, and began to enter the code. One phone appeared not to be entering a code, but actually the code was appearing on the other set. We have replaced the SMDR6, disabled the port it is on, put a phone on this port and re-enabled the port, rebooted the system, confirmed firmware was at the latest, and all to no avail. We contacted Nortel, and of course they want us to upgrade the MICS to 7.1XC, and then if we still have the problem, re-open a case with them. The problem is in upgrading this customer to 7.1, there voicemail would have to be replaced. We are trying to resolve this without doing a upgrade to 7.1. We pulled a cabinet out of our stock, installed the cards to mirror the customer's system we are having trouble with, installed an SMDR6 and performed the test and still the same problem exist. We have another customer that has a MICS that is at 6.1XC software that also has an SMDR6, so we decided to make a trip and test theirs to see if they also had this problem. We tested, and they did not have this problem. We came back to the office and upgraded our lab sytem to 6.1 and the problem still exist. I was wondering if any of you have ever seen this problem before?
I know a little about a lot, and a lot about little.

......I am in believe that it has to do with the latest firmware on the SMDR6, because the customer who's system we went out to test, that was not having this trouble, their SMDR6 is a release 01 and has not had a firmware upgrade.

I've not seen this issue, but from your story I believe it does sound like an issue with the SMDR module/firmware version.

Ok, update from Nortel for all who have had or may have this problem: This bug was introduced by one of the SMDR updates between wi02.17 and wi02.19, and not a day one issue. Hence SMDR works fine with smdr_rom wi02.16. Nortel is currently trying to provide a firmware update to correct this issue, since this bug was also introduced in wi2.21 as well.
