I have a customer with a MICS 6.1. I am trying to install a PRI from XO communications. I believe all is programmed correctly. The DIT card in slot 4 of the MICS. PRI key codes were installed. Card type – PRI, Lines 001- 023, Protocol: NI-2 (NSF EXT: WATS), B channel seq: Ascending, CO fail: TIA-547A, I/F Levels: ISDN
Framing ESF, CSU: off, DSX1 bld: 000-100, Line coding B8ZS, Clocking: Primary
In Maintance: card 1:1 loops

On the DTI card the very top yellow alarm is solid. When I put the system in a loop back
The provider can see the loop. The card goes in a green state until I turn the loop off.
When I disable and re-enable the card I hear it clicking watch it flash it goes
Green the about 3 seconds Then the yellow alarm comes back up.

I have done this procedure many times and never had this problem before. The service
Provider says they think it’s the equipment. According to the manual that yellow alarm indicates inbound singling issues.

Has anyone ever had to deal with this?

But a loop back plug in your card? Does it sink to itself?

Do you have an external csu?

Keep CSU on.

Possibly. I have had kooky issues sometimes when i have made config changes to the DTI card w/o disabling the card first.

Power down
Pull the card
Disable the slot, and set as loop start card.
Enable.
Power down.
Insert DTI card
Disable slot, and set as DTI card.
Enable.
Now disable card, and set your parameters.
Enable.

BTW what version 6.1 are you using? Weren't there issues with PRI's on some of the earlier releases.

Thanks for all your help.
I had the service provider come out and reinstall the lines back as potts and reprogramed the switch back to the same way it was when i got here.
Its 12:15am my time so i am done for now.
I'll be back with a new DTI card and CSU
latter on and try this again. I am not sure
if there were issues with this version of 6.1.
The card says rel:01. I'll talk to my nortel support in the moring and see what they have to say about all this.

thanks again for all your help.

PS. At least i can put on my work order that i was able to turn on a fax line in a recording setting 11 hours. cause when i leave here thats the only thing thas is different from when i got here.
Take care

Loop back should be 1,2 - 3,6. Not 1,2-4,5. make a good loop back and test again. I had few times bad COMBO card(Clock). You might have no sink.
I hate XO what ever it comes to Voice.

If you are using 6.1 make sure it is a MR version. There are known issues with PRI on early 6.1 rev.
