I have an ICS with 7.0 xc software and I have a call pilot 150 mini with 2.0 software. Everything on the call pilot works except for it is not reading digits on the phone so when I call in it does not recognize when I try to hit 0 to get back to the operator or when I try to dial an extention. I was told I have to upgrade the software to 3.1 and when I do that I will lose all of my key codes and right now I have 200 mailboxes. I was not the one who installed this system so of course I do not have the key codes. Do I have to purchase new key codes or can I have those key codes regenerated. Or does anyone have any other solutions and what will it cost me to generate 200 mailboxes

welcome
The reason your CP is not working properly IS because there is version mismatch. 7.x requires 3.x in thr CP.

If you use the upgrade tool (plugs into the upper pcmcia slot) that loads the new software onto the existing flash card you will NOT lose your keycodes.

I want to thank you for answering my post but I am a little confused I do alot of programing and I mostly work with systems that hold between 30 and 50 subscribers.

What is the upgrade tool and where is the pcmcia slot is that the data link port. I was told my alltell that I need to purchase new keycodes along with the software and the key codes were going to cost me around 5,000 dollars I knew there had to be a better way. If I need to I would call you and see if you can run me through the upgrade and I will be more than willing to pay any service charge.

Thank you
Tim Swan

Hi Tim,
Don't listen anybody who doesn't know what they are talking about. If you are a certified autorised dealer you can go on Norstar support side and download Software upgrade to PCMIA Flash card. Then you have to follow precedure from Nortel on upgrade. If you noticed you have two PCMIA slots on CallPilot. Far down slot is the slot were your Flash PCMIA card is pluged in(its a lower slot). Slot wich is empty is a upper one. That is the one your ugrade PCMIA card should plug into. In this case you are not losing any program from your previouse setup. The only one thing you have to do before upgrade is Back up your existing program into the Computer in case something goes wrong.

I am not a certified authorized dealer so will this cause me a problem. All I am wanting to do is upload the current software to 3.1. I was just going to purchase the 3.1 software and from there can you download that onto a flash card. Where would I purchase a flash card.

He is one of those posters that "if TeleMarv is posting, NTlayoff is listening" !!!!!

I assume vad was talking about BandT'd vendor.

Tim, buy, beg, borrow, or rent the upgrade from somewhere. You won't need to do any keycode or reprogramming of the CP.
