Vad, how could it be Fios or Verizons problem when they are only using IP internally? I am not using the internet for transport. Or am I getting confused with replies to Sqrats like problem?

Vad, yes the customer is using analog lines on IP telephones. I agree that the customer made a mistake buying IP telephones to use on analog lines. I didn't sell it, a distributor we work with did. We were only originally hired to program it. Of course we had to rewire sparkies work and redo the jacks but I degress.........
As for the lines.......actually helps the arguement re VOIP. Why do it yourself, be responsible for QOS, worry about down time etc. when the phone company offers an all you can dial service with SLA's. Its not like this Electrical contractor has IPT applications.

IP sets with Analog lines is a known issue with BCM50 ver 2 and 3 . Need to have correct patches to fix it . You can also try to set loss package to short which would help on the built in 4 co lines. Funny is some patches fix this echo problem and if you add other patches on top , it will break !!!!
After patch is applied you need to tune the GATM4 by either reboot the BCM50 or disable the GATM4 and then unable it.
I had about 3 BCM50 ( v 2 and 3 ) with this problem ONLY with IP sets , Digital sets are fine. Lines are fine as far as I tested with the butt set.

THANK YOU MADWOK!
The digital telephones are fine, as are the lines.
My vendor's technical support never mentioned any patches that could help.
Thank you
