Hi I have got an awkward little job coming up soon and I have to connect a Startalk vm unit to a Norstar Modular system. Does anyone know if this is straightforward? All I have to do initially is create mailboxes for all the extensions and make sure all 4 ports work. So far I only seem to be able to get just one port working. I would be grateful for some sort of idiots guide to this. The Samsung SVM voicemails look a lot easier to set up! Cheers.. :bang:

Startalk is very esy to install if you know what you are doing. I need models/software versions of the system and voice mail to provide any assistance.

Do you happen to have a manual for the Startalk? If you don't have access to a manual, try this link . With the manual it will make a lot more sense to you. It should make the install go fairly smooth.

Thankyou Marv. I will get the exact models of Norstar and Startalk and post back this afternoon. Cheers Richard, the only manual I have been looking at is a Startalk Mini but I'm not sure what the one I have got is. I will post back.

Ok, I have a Norstar 0+32 that says software version SP:30N v I09 GP9 and the Startalk says N* 180 1.4.00
Is that good?

I don't have that SP number in my records.
But, I can tell you there is no Startalk that is compatible with MICS. It would have to be a Flash. Inside the cover is there a 2 (2 port) or 4 (4 port) imprinted?
Setting up mailboxes is discussed very clearly in the setup and operation guide that came withthe unit.

It's a Startalk 180 4 port imprinted. I have learned how to setup the Mailboxes but it won't let me add any more than 4 mailboxes!

What's the "NT" number on the StarTalk?

Does it look like this: https://www.best4systems.co.uk/product.asp?ProdID=350 Your first post says you have only one port working. You know this because you dialed that extension DN and it answered and all the other DN's did not???? You can only dial the MAIN DN for VM and get an answer. The other DN's will not answer when dialed directly. How to tell if the other ports are working?? Get 4 people to dial the MAIN DN all at the same time. They should all get answered and all should hear the VM prompts at the same time.

yes, that's it exactly. thanks for the info about the DN number being the only one that answers calls. Now would you know why I can't add more than 4 Mailboxes. Should I default it first. This unit is 2nd user as I have noticed existing company greetings. I know there should be 48 mailboxes in total. Thanks for all the help btw.
