Hello All,
I just got a new CICS system. I installed it my self. It was working at first until I initialized the system. Which I expected to have to go back in and set everything back up. But now I'm lost.
FYI: This system is in my house. (I run my own small business from home doing IT consulting and marketing) Phone systems are kind of a hobie for me. I have the extensions set up to start at 2401 - 2406 (Have 6 phones) The system software is 4.1.
I am normally good at working with Nortel programing.
THE PROBLEM: I am having some trouble with setting up the ringing.
This is what I want:
Line 1: Day- Ring all phones Night- Ring 2404, 2406
Line 2: Day- Ring extension 2404 Night- Ring extension 2404 (same as day)
Thanks for all your help!!!
PS- I have the Software version 7.1 install, programing manual on cd . (Told it would work with 4.1) I also have all the passwords to access all the different user modes.
Once again thanks!
-Austin

Sorry to keep adding on but I want line 2 to not be prime on extension 2404!? I want that line to be viewed and accessible from any phone on the system.

By default Lines 1 & 2 Appear & Ring on all phones. Prime set assignment is part of <Lines> programming. Night ringing is a part of Service > Ringing Service. You have to assign lines to Different Ringing Group and then add Extensions you wish to ring at Night. By default they all will ring at Ext.2401 in your case. You have to make sure that Night mode set up to Manual or Automatic based on your operation. By default Night schedule is Off.

Ok, Thanks. I got services set up and working.
Here is my new issue. I have a caller ID card in but the caller Id on displays AFTER I answer the call. Why? What am I missing?
Plus my phones don't display Lines 1 or 2.
How can I fix this?
Thanks, Austin

Make sure line 1 and 2 ring and appear on the set. Also check your CID properties under each set capabilities.

When I set the Appear&Ring, it overrides my night ringing.
When I go into Terminals&Sets > Extension # > Capabilities, There is no setting that looks like it deals with Caller ID.

Unfortunately you are dealing with two opposing things.
In order to have CI automatic you must have lines ringing on your phones. The option to turn on CI for a phone does not appear in programming unless the line set to ring. However once you you turn on ringing the always rings no matter what ringing service your system is using.
