That is because that line rings on the operator phone during the day. To "make it stop" you would have to set it to APPEAR ONLY.
But then it would not ring on the operator phone during the day.
If she is not there at night, does it matter ??

If a phone rings and no one is there to hear it, does it really ring ?

Sorry I didn't see the rest of the post.

They do not want it ringing at night because there is always someone in the office. Sometimes its a late working employee and sometimes it is security.

Thanks,
Michael

Then tell the operator to turn on DO NOT DISTURB feature. Then the phone will not ring at all.

Then turn it off when she gets back in the morning.

Feature 85 - Turn on DND
Feature #85 - Turn off DND

Remember - DND ON - the phone will not ring at all.

Hmmmmm. I am thinking that the CICS was not the right option.

That phone has to ring incase someone presses 0 at night, the call will be answered by security.

This is what I think I will do:

Set up call pilot to answer all calls day or night after 2 rings.

During the day have the callpilot transfer to 4021 if no answer go back to the AA.

At night have a traditional night greeting asking to dial an extension or use directory.

What do you guys think?

But then we run into the same problem. 4021 is going to ring until callpilot answers on the second ring.

Hmmmm.

It is such a short quick ring when Call Pilot picks up on 0 rings. I can't believe that if they want all the other to happen, they can't live with a short ring.

You can always put a second phone at the desk.
Make it ring on dial 0

I am just going to leave it the way it is. The employees at this office wont care. Its the people at corporate that care and they are in Florida. They will never know the difference.

Thanks for all the help,
Michael

The only way to accomplish your no ringing scenerio is to use a ring group for day and ring group for night.
