I had a tech go on a service call today where the customer has a Nortel ICS and uses telco voicemail (on line 3).

They told our tech that up until last week the Telco voicemail had answered on ALL four lines; however, I can't see how unless there was a "line forward" programmed into the system. For example...line 1 rings and after 4-5 rings...it rolls to line 3 (where the telco voicemail is). He called telco and the hunt group is L1->L2->L3->L4. Each line will ring 5 times before rolling. So essentially...if no one answers...the call will ring 15 times before telco voicemail will pick-up.

Do anyone have any clue if or how to get each line to roll over to the Line 3 telco voicemail line??

Thank you!!!

Penny

Does anyone think that: Enable Forward No Answer To VM (where the VM is an external VM) will work??

Nope. This is totally controlled by Telco.

On a busy, line 1 forwards to line 2, 2 to 3, etc.

On a no answer, each line should forward to voicemail. Why if there is no answer on line 1 would you want it to forward to line 2, to 3??

The ICS can be programmed to forward externally, but usually it is station by station out to a cell phone, etc, not to voicemail.

Suggest making another call to Telco to investigate.

Thanx Conxtel...personally...I think the customer confused as to what the system did before it lost it's programming. We have called several Distribution Tech support guys and they all tell us the same thing...the system is not capable; however, the customer insist it worked that way before...but I'm sure you know how that is.

Is there anything in a CallPilot that would send incoming calls out to an external (telco) voicemail?

Thank you!!!!

UNLESS.....the client wants the Telco VM to catch calls when all lines are busy. That's their only advantage.

These sound like Centrex lines, which can be programmed to hunt on no answer. But that is a telco issue not the phone system.
