Hi folks.

I've got a question with regard to the Norstar system and the Call ID log that's on the phone.

When I recall the log with F812, then hit More until the phone number is displayed, the phone number is displayed in this format 123-4567 (555), so the number is first, then the area code in brackets. This makes it impossible to simply hit a line and dial this number from the Call ID log, because I get an automated message from the phone company saying I need to dial the area code first.

This used to work fine on the smaller Norstar system we had (8 extensions), but since upgrading to the larger 16 extension system this feature seems backwards. The installer did not know how to address this issue.

I don't know exactly what system I have, but the PDF manual he left me says CICS v6.1. Also there is a CallPilot 100 voicemail box attached to the system, if that helps. I have the password to get into the system if needed, and know how to navigate the system.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

welcome to the board

That is a problem from your LEC or CLEC, not the system.

The Caller ID is properly formatted when a call comes thru, area code first, then the number. It's only when the call is not answered, and I look thru the Call ID log (F812) the number is displayed with the area code last. It worked properly with the previous system (3 line, 8 extensions). I think we have a 4 line, 16 extension system now.

So nobody has any idea why this might be happening? There's gotta be a way to put it back to the way it was on the old system.
