My customer's BCM 400 rel 4.0.2 has Call Pilot not working. I rebooted it several times to no avail.Vendor tech support says it needs new HD and/or a motherboard, and I need to test the P.O.S.T. on a monitor while booting to see if the CPU sees the hard drive. I'm on my way.

I am wondering if a seperate Call Pilot would work, using ports from the BCM extensions. I can think of no reason this should not integrate unless Nortel made it so it wouldn't work with an external Call Pilot. Does anyone know?

I believe there may be disconnect problems, though that is a extrapolation from issues with putting other brand external vmails on BCM systems.

I haven't tried it but in theory should work. As far as third party mails from what I remember from the manual all Norstar sets send out the "D" tone on disconnect. For whatever that's worth.

You may need to reset the feature codes. You can do a second voice mail, but it will default to the second series of feature codes I am pretty sure. It been a long time since I have done that, I would have to double check what those codes even were.

Good to know. I thought I read somewhere on this board that you could not, but that was a while back and I cannot find the thread. smile
