Client has three "receptionists" sitting at the main desk. I have the inbound PRI lines appearing/ringing on each phone x3.

If one of the girls puts a call on hold, how can another girl pick up that line? Call Pick-Up (or Directed Call Pick-Up) only works when the phone is ringing...

Use call park instead.

Danny, setup each of the 3 phones with 1 to 3 SWCA buttons. Use these instead of hold and anyone with those appearances can pickup the call. I've got a BCM50 with PRI and each ringing phone has 1 apperance of the main number, and 4 SWCA buttons.
Once a call is answered, the inbound line button is free to handle the next call. They use the buttons as if they were park buttons. Works great.

System Wide Call Appearance...not sure I've ever played with that. Is this different than "Appear & Ring"?

It gives the illusion of being the same.

Imagine call park with appearances of where it is parked.
