Have BCM 50 with 6.0 software, When dialling in, get auto attendant, press ** to receive messages away from office at home or cell, get dead air only no prompts. Yet if we try it from site get prompts. Any ideas out there.

Is carrier reserving * for their own use?
I would ask them to call in with their tech on the CO side at the NOC and see what is happening.

What happens when you get somebody's mailbox....can you press 1 star to get out of that mailbox?

Yes * returns you and works fine, also # sign to spell name does not work in auto attendant. Tried reboot, did not fix this issue

For the # to work for the directory, it has to be turned on.
