Try this, I think this for the 7420. Go off hook, dial 30, enter speed dial location (0-9), enter phone number, dial #, you should get a confirmation tone, hang up handset.

Are you referrring to a one touch button or entering personal speed dial numbers for your extension. I think your probably looking for the one touch button. press program, 99, then the button you want, press 2, 9 and the number as you would dial it. Then press store. To exit programming, pick up the hand set and hang up. It may help you to put a display set on that extension to set up all your buttons. This procedure is also for setting up DSS keys, one touch voice mail access, voice mail trans. and a few other features. If your looking for actual "station speed dial" then follow DTMFs instructions. Make sure when you go off hook your on intercom not a CO. WaM

Im looking for one touch button dialing. What this location does is when they have a call that they want to transfer to our contact center they hit flash, then the speed dial button to the contact center then flash. They need to change the # for the contact center. I had them try "program" "99" "speed dial button" "new phone number" "store" "program" and it didn't work. Its strange though because now if they hit the one touch button it sends them tot he old phone number but if they try to do the flash-speed dial-flash it disconnects the caller??

TDe. You didn't mention anything about having Centrex lines, which you should have if your going to transfer the call to to an actual phone number. By default the flash key is programmed to disconnect. For external feature access you need to go to program 990, field 3, bit 1. Change it to a 1. Count from right to left. (read previous post about 8-16 from Cat 5) You say the one touch now calls the old number, so you must have programmed it properly. What version is this 1232? The earlier versions wouldn't drop the "9" when transfering or with the flash. Take it one step at a time, set up your one touch to call your other location and when that works change that field in 990.

The flash key is already programmed for the transfer..They've been using this function for a while..Its just that they have to transfer to a different telephone number so I'm assuming I only need to change the number programmed in their speed dial button? and Im assuming that was/is just programmed with a 9-1-800-###-####. Is the 990 for the flash? I'll have to see what version the sets are.

Not what version the sets are, what version the system is. 990 is a program field that has a bearing on many little odds & ends pertaining to the system programming. It has different areas & field locations.Check it as I mentioned in a previous post. some of the older systems did not drop the "9" when using the flash key. for this we would program a "one touch" without the 9 which would not be a true "one touch", you had to press a CO button then that one touch without the 9. Do your sets go off hook on intercom or CO tone? Are you using ACR or least cost routing or any other restrictions? 1st make sure your one touch works then check 990 as I mentioned. You are sure you have Centrex, right? Your not just tring to transfer using a 2nd CO line off your system are you?

Nope they definately have Centrex and the one touch works. The whole transfer process was working fine before I had them change the phone number for the one touch. Now like I said the one touch works by itself but the flash/transfer isn't working now. I'm probably going to dispatch a tech since this site is no where near me and the onsite contacts are all teachers not familiar with phones.

Did you have them press the flash key and dial the number? See if that works. we need to simply find out if the problem is with the flash feature or using it combined with a one touch. Dan, can you think of anything I missed?
