Hey all, I need some help. I have an older DBS824 with a Repartee voicemail (dos based), I don't service this system too much so when I have to work on it I'm a little slow. I added an extension the other day along with a voicemail box. The problem I'm having is the phone absolutely will not forward to the mailbox, it forwards to the main greeting. I checked the forward on the phone, it is programmed to forward on NA/Busy, then the next option #43 is set to 280 (which is the voicemail extension). In the repartee I have the mailbox set at 111 and the extension Id at 111. Everything I've looked at seems to be programmed the same as other phones that work fine but I can't find the problem. My email is [email protected], thanks.

DW, I really know very little on the DBS side of Panasonic. DTMF might be able to help you more but your problem is typical of the switch not sending the "follow on ID" to the voice mail. In other words it is sending the call to the voice mail but it is not sending the digits necessary for the voice mail to go right into that mail boxes personal greeting. Is there any way you can take a close look at an extension that is working properly and compare the two?

Check your Call Forward ID code.

I have compared the programming to 2 other extensions and everything seems to look the same in the switch side. The voicemail like I said is mailbox 111 and the extension id is 111. I have been through everything like 10 times and I've done this in the past so I'm not sure what I'm missing. Even tried moving the extension to 121 and starting all over, same thing so I'm not doing something right! Hey dtmf is that code in the panasonic or the voicemail? I'll check it out, thanks

DW- Read my post a couple down. Know body was able to help me as well, but I did a lot of research and thing I have the fix. It is on the DBS side and not the VMAIL. We are going out on-site tomorrow to test our findings out. I will send you an email with the results and what we had to do to fix it.

You need to enter the voicemail follow-on id code. Go to a digital phone. Press ON/OFF, Program, Auto, * (star), the extension number, extension number again (might have to add a 1 at the end), Hold key. For example, if the extension is 105: ON/OFF Program Auto * 105 105(1) <--- You may have to put the 1 at the end if instead of hearing the mailbox greeting you hear "Please hold on while I try that extension". Hold.

Phonemeister, thank you for helping out DW. I can't speak for DarCom but as for me,(and I've said it many times before) I know nothing of the DBS side of Panasonic other then it is now defunct. PhoneGuy, We are sorry we couldn't help you out. All of us, regardless of category, depend on and encourage all members to chime in whenever they feel they can help or have something to add. I think you'll find that the dedication of moderators and members combined, along with the fact that this forum is still free for anyone to use is what makes us the best telco forum on the net. Thank you, Gem
