I have two certs from Panasonic: DBS96 and Courier IFM. Recently I tried to use my ID to call tech support and the system said that my ID was invalid. Two things have happened since I last used my ID:
1. The KXT side merged with the DBS side
2. I changed my employer/company

I called my rep and he advised me about the merger, and said that the only way I could keep my certs was if:
1. My new employer purchased hardware stock
2. I go to Georgia and take the 576 course

Has anyone else been screwed out of thier Panasonic tech ID?

well, the DBS side and the CSD (KX-TD) side did not merge. Matsushita, the parent company of Panasonic decided to close the DBS side and no longer manufacture that equipment.
The letter,(which I posted) was sent out in Oct. of 2002.
The last time I talked to Tech. support they told me that a few of the DBS Techs. were there and still supporting the DBS.
Are you saying you are no longer associated with the company who had the Cert. even if the Cert. was in your name?
This I have came accross as when I started my own company I could not transfer my Cert. which was in my name because it was associated with the company I used to work for.
I had to take all the classes again.
If your local rep. can't (or won't)help you I can only suggest you call one of the training directors at Elgin, IL. or Secaucus, NJ.

[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]Maybe some of the guys who were more involved in the DBS side can offer some insight.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. I don't understand the logic behind having to take all the classes again to reamain certified! Fact is the new company I am with is an Authorized Dealer, so I can't fathom why Panasonic won't honor a simple transfer.
