My phone is a DBS VB-44223-B 22K LCD small
We have Bellsouth Business with caller ID service. I really require this option on the phone, however on an incomming call the LCD simply shows "Incomming Track #01" I am not technically experienced with these phones & the manual isn't very helpful. Is there a code or program to use the caller ID or is this phone unable to provide the feature due to our service provider? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

You are going to need to find out what system the phone is running on. At minimum, there is programming to be done to have the system pass caller ID. You will probably also need some additional hardware. Frankly, I am not certain as to what is required for the various DBS systems to pass caller ID. Hopefully MrGemini or another Panasonic expert will chime in. In the mean-time, go and look at the phone system and get a model #. As an alternative, there are third party caller ID units that can be wired into the incoming lines ahead of the system and run to your desk. Of course, this option will place more hardware on your desk and require additional wiring. ------------------ Avaya Telephone Repair Panasonic Telephone Repair [This message has been edited by paul144 (edited July 12, 2005).]

The model no. is: VB-42050 for 824 system. I have access to the wiring, etc. I had no idea that this could be such an intricate configuration! Any help is appreciated.

From my manual, you need to have a CPC-M processor card (part# VB-42451) and a CID-A card (Part # VB-42551) in order to have caller ID on your first 4 incoming lines. If you have more than 4 lines, you will aso need a CID-B card (VB-42552). If you have 6 incoming lines or fewer, than you probably have the smaller processor that will not handle Caller ID. If you have the smaller processor, then you would need to upgrade the processor, install the CID card, then program the system. I would suggest finding a Panasonic certified tech that can help you out. ------------------ Avaya Telephone Repair Toshiba Telephone Repair [This message has been edited by paul144 (edited July 12, 2005).]

to install caller id, you do have to have a piggy back board for the ksu to get id for incoming calls. it requires 2 boards at 4 lines per board. you can program the sets for a caller log(10) only but the caller id is always passed through to exts on transfer
