We Have Aprox 200 KXTA 6-16 Unit On Service Contract For 1 Customer.

We Have Had A Bit Of A Run On This Fault!!

A Call Comes In From BT
The System Answers It ( No Voice Mail )
Then It Drops The Call
This Happens On All CO Ports
Restart System ( No Effect )
Clear System, Reprogram ( No Effect )
Fit SDX 40E Phone System, Fault Fixed
We Have Fitted New KXTA System The Fault Comes Back. Have Spoken To Panasonic Tech
Can't Help.

How can you be sure it's the system
that's answering the call?
Maybe somewhere along the line someone plugged in a personal fax or modem or could it be an alarm? you made no mention if there is any tone or CNG before dropping the call.
I suspect you may be using the DISA cards, if there is no need for these, pull the out completely as there really nothing but a pain.

No PC Fax Or Alarms Fitted To The Lines

The Call Comes In & Rings The Phones
The System Answers The Call.
The Customer Phoning The Site Gets
The Phone Picked Up & Put Back Down Again.
Unpluged All Extn RJ11 From The System
Ring Trip Fault.
8 x POT Phones On Site
5 X Lines

Cable From The BT NTTA To The System

i had this same problem with eircom
(in ire ) when a call arrived the cus answered then the call dropped i changed to a kxtd problem fixed 1 week later swapped the system back to a new kxt-a problem back again swapped for another kxt-a same problem told eircom to reset all lines and remove all services from lines then resetup the ring group
problem fixed
i think the system was recieving what it thought was a disconnect signal from one of the services on the line (call answering or call waiting.
