one of the co's on my taw848 gets a huge BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP modem type sound on EVERY OTHER call. what is that? you can hear the caller and/or voicemail int he background but this big BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEp plays on EVERY OTHER call. weird. how can this go away? there is no fax on this line.

Do you have an alarm system? If so, check to see which line it is on. Then, call your alarm company and have them adjust the settings.

unplugged the alarm...didn't solve problem (it's on different CO anyway). unplugged the fax...same story. also, i shut off the pbx and called that line...problem did NOT occur. What the heck could this be?

could be the internal modem of the phone system if installed or some where a pc or other device is connected to the system. un plug phone 1 at a time and call line with system on till you find culprit.

i unhooked that co from our home wiring at the network interface...jumpered in a slt. Rang the phone...ring ring ring...no answer...so no crossed line. BUT, get this, when i ANSWER the phone, every other time BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
sbc is fixing this one on their dime dammit! i wasted so much time on this thinking i tripped some bizarre, deeply buried parameter.
