Anybody have any luck or a fix for PC programming on the dos based programs for the 1232/816 digital when you are running winXP or 2000.
I got a new laptop and downloading a complete backup can take an hour on a 1232, thats if it doesn't come back with a disconnect.

do you have full functionality with that program? backup/restore, I guess I will download it from the panasonic web site and have a look. I totally forgot they had a windows program for it. When I took the course in 2001, the windows program did not work very well.

windows program works well but I find since I trained on the blue screen I can navigate a lot faster (the windows stuff came out way too late as far as I'm concerned)

I tried the windows prog today and same thing. COM errors. Get connected try to down load gets about 3 lines and gives me errors. I get father with the dos prog, it will sometime let me download but it just takes a long long time. It is not just me, all the people in my company are having the same issues. As soon as we all upgraded to win2000 and XP. We all don't even bother with the panasonic pc program, it just doesn't work for us.

I guess I will just have to carry around 2 laptops, one running win 98. Sometimes I could get it to work with my win 2000 machine but not at all with my xp machine.
