Uh oh! Someone left the Panasonic door open and topher snuck in! :toothy:
Well, here is my question. I want a small panasonic system for one reason, the backlight on the phones. I saw Ed talking about them in another post and the appealed to me.
So, I have a couple of questions. What is the smallest Panasonic system available, and which model phone has a green glow and the keypad lights up when you pick up the handset?

Proudly serving Canada from coast to coast.
KXTA824 comes 3X8 but can expand to 8X24 with CID and CID to SLP. Built in modem, USB interface for either programming or download backups. Door boxes, MOH, you know, all the bells and whistles.
The "Green Light Special" is the KXT7731 (B). Lit dial, backlit LCD display. If you don't put the "B" on the end you get white --- B= Black. 12 buttons fully flex, 12 buttons for one button dialing, etc., voice annouce ICM, auto answer on ICM, lots of gadgets.
Works great in small office and large home/ home office apps. Just remember it is a comsumer grade unit that fits well in its field.
The 7736 has lighted keypad, 7737 same with talking caller ID. 3 line display. Will work with TA 308 which is discontinued but available cheap from member of this board.
I have a question now... I tried once before to put a Norstar behind a call system, it made the 824 DR5 squeal a high-pitched tone from the KSU. If I put a norstar behind a panasonic, instead of my original idea to put the panasonic behind the norstar, would it mess up the Norstar like that or would it work? (Loopstart trunks)
I would imagine that the squealing was due to extremely high loop current or voltage. Panasonics definitely squeal when going off hook under those conditions. For putting a Norstar behind a Panasonic, you wouldn't have that problem because their voltage and loop current is pretty low. It's not going to hurt anything.

True- the 7736 or 7737 will work with the KX-TA308 *with* a modification to the KSU. I've got the KSU's (new) call me, tho a used TA624 can prolly be had for even less....
