We have a 1232 with a slave 1232 at a bank and a few months ago, I installed a Caller ID card and it seems now all of the extensions ring no matter how I have them set up. The extensions that are set up to not ring ring right away. Does the Caller ID take priority over the settings for the extensions?

No, the KX-TD193 card installation and programming should have nothing to do with the ringing asignments.
Did you reset the system? It's tricky on any version earlier then -6.
Maybe the units are out of sync. Can you call from 101 to 133 ?
Turn on the master then the slave within a second.
No activity, incomming or outgoing for at least 3 minutes.
Also where is the clear/run switch?
If it's in clear a reset would have defaulted the system. eek

No I didn't do a reset and I kind of wondered about that. All of the extensions can call each other as far as I know, that hasn't been a complaint. Since this a bank, I'll need to go in early to do the reset. I'll have to pull the COs from the master since this place gets calls constantly, even early in the morning.

Thanks,
Kazz

if you power the system off you need to put the main phone in prog mode and leave it, when it drops back to time and date the two systems should be synced. Any incoming outgoing call could delay the sync.

I really hate to sound stupid but what do you mean by program mode? I hope you don't mean to put the clear/run switch to clear mode. I'm not going to have time to reset this thing from factory defaults.

Thanks,
Kazz

Kazz, I have no idea what Magic is talking about.
I have plenty of dual cabinet systems in the field
and have always reset them as I outlined above, which is also according to the manual,
with the exception of version 5 or above which have the auto-sync. feature.

Thanks for the info MrG. What MD said kind of confused me. I do have one more stupid question. Do I need to do the reset procedure to both the main and the slave boxes? I'm not sure what version they are but I will check before I procede with the procedure. I do know they are the same version. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks again,
Kazz

Kazz, yes the procedure applies to both.
You bring both units down and power them up essentially at the same time.
Do what ever is necessary to assure there is no incomming or outgoing traffic for at least 5 minutes.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks, MrG

I always ensure I have a backup of everything before powering down anything. otherwise MrGemini has you in the correct direction.

OT, thank you.
Some things I take as 2nd nature.
Kazz,
A backup is a must, especially for a dual cabinet system.
