it seems that i can't find a td160 doorcard card for my customer's kx-td1232 dash-3

i know that the td161 - 4 port doorcard is available but is for dash-4 or higher

my question is... if i install the td161 in a dash3 might it work as a 2 port card?? all i need it for is 1 doorbox and opener, or will it not work at all?

Have you thought about just using a Viking W-2000 door box on a CO line port? You'll have much better luck putting your hands on one of those.

161 will work on ver 3 but only 2 door boxes. We ran into this trying to run 4 and discovered ver problem (DUH, it's in da book, John. That's what it's for! smile ) As I recall, only the 1st and 3rd ports worked. John C. (Not Garand)

john, are you sure about that?? cause i had two other responses (emails) and they both claimed that the 161 card will not work at all. panasonic tech support also said it won't work.

guess i'll just have to test it myself.

I know that you are probably about burned-out on this problem, but Mike Sandman www.sandman.com sells a door box system that shares a working CO line port. If the line is in use and someone rings the door, it comes through as a call waiting tone on the line. That might be an alternative solution.
