We have kind of a weird one. Intermittently both if the csr door phones will just stop working. They may work for a week, then die for two, then come back up. It does not seem to be weather related. The cabling was tested and seems ok, the card was also replaced. I do not think the door phones were replaced yet. Both of them go out and come up at the same time. Any suggestions as to what can cause this?

If the 2 of them stop at the same time, it would suggest its not the door box's. could the system be put in do night/lunch mode and the units are not programmed for the time services?

Sounds like a port problem....Pana ports sometimes "heal" themselves.
Just a thought....or it could be power related....
Just guesses.....

Thanks Ken, The rest of the system stays up so I do not think it is power. I am thinking bad port as well. I think they are just going to bypass the whole door card and just using some vikig boxs with a ring down to a spare co

OBT it right it is unlikely both door intercoms would go at the same time it is more probable that one of them is gone faulty and when pressed a certain way causes the port on the system to short out, and when another person presses again it releases the switch breaking the short. replace one of them if the fault returns move it to the other.

I think Peter's on to something Anthony, have you tried using just one of them connected for a while. Also, are you using the contacts for a release? Sometimes you can get "backlash" from a strike or gate control relay. --------------------- MrG

None of the contact are being used as a release...i will need to confirm if the door boxs were ever swapped out. I am helping a friend out on this, it is his inherited client so the details I am getting are a little sketchy. He know the door card was replaced he was not sure about the phones...He is going on sire next week, I think I will take a ride with hi, and get back to you guys.
Thanks for all the tips

This is kind of a long shot, but maybe the connector on the doorphone adapter to ksu isn't quite seated properly, and thus the intermittent operation. I've seen where the ksu was mounted (poorly) on a common wall with a door, and when the door was slammed, the connector would "unseat".
