After reading all the post left on here about the 824. And my unit is having problems. It would seem this was not a very good unit to start off with.

What would be a good unit?

Would the Panasonic phones still work with it?

Any views on this would be great full.

Thanks

yes a KX-TAW848 if you can find one on ebay or a new TDA50G the right cards in would be a better system and you can reuse the phones !

First, why did you buy an 824 to begin with? What phones do you have. A used TD-1232 begins as an 8x16 box and all your phones would move into it. The TAW-848, like the on in my inventory, is discontinued, but it will accept all of your old 77xx phones. A TDA-50 accepts 4 phones before you have to buy an expansion power supply.

So, define how many phones you have and features you want. Some of the 824's features, like included DISA and CO message waiting are not available on the other products.

Thank you for the reply.

I got the system because I have had Panasonic phones since 1985. They seem to hold up and do very good.

Really I do not have any problems with unit. I installed it 5 years ago and not had any problems with it till now.

I still have a human answer the phones with a stand alone answering machine at night.

Some of the staff wanted to know if instead of having a machine at night if I could use the AA or just forward calls to a sales person each night.

I know many on here think it is a POS unit. But I was surprised to see they still make it.

I am unable to get the AA or the FWD to CO to work correctly was when I thought it might be time to upgrade to a new system.

The phones still seem in good working order was why I was hoping to still use them.

3 CO lines and 5 ext phones.

Thanks
