I've got a customer with a 206 , when he had his counters built 20+ years ago he had niches built that fit the merlin 5 button

Ive tried to upgrade him but we can't get any phones to fit in the niches

I just replaced all the handsets and cords but the system is chugging along

Skip, are the phones sunk into the counters?

yes Jeff , three phones set in niches built in below counter level

something like this

------ -------- --------- -----------
.......---........---.........---

(formating isn't working well but you can get a rough idea )

works well but its not wide enough for modern phones that plus its still perking along does all he wants so upgrade is hard to sell

It seems like I hold on to old eq. and stock untill it becomes popular again. Look at Ed's stock. The Merlin system is basic but its like a timex watch, and since the phones worked on multiple ksu's they seem to have been around forever. The best phones to keep are the BIS models. I like to have merlin plus,410, and old legend systems on shelf for emergency swap out, when a customer finds out you carry their replacement cards, phones, handsets, etc they stick with you.

I have one Merlin 410 that keeps returning. I have sold the same system about 6 times. Last two times, it was "pay for install" only, then they buy a phone system later. The big advantage is it is them 4pr cables, anything will work on merlin wiring.

it's all tip and ring

ok guys this is all good information, but bear with my ignorance on this - There is one piece that actually says 'Legend' on it, the main unit says AT&T Intuity, there is a PA system that says 15A, MLX-10P, and R3 processor. I feel like Im speaking another language as I type. The packing list says unit 391C1 with a description as Mer leg pwr unit -

so, from this list, I'd say it was purchased in 1999, and probably obsolete, Im not looking to make anything on it, just get rid of it to someone who can use it - I can take pictures of it and send if anyone is interested, if not - I'll take the advice of a few previous posts and donate it - not knowing exactly what I have, I dont want to go the ebay route and make someone mad - If any of you guys are local to Dallas TX, you are more than welcome to come look at it and see if its worth a case of beer or somethin'

its the only pic i have on photobucket, ill get another one sooner or later : P

Im just a chick who loves Mopar, R1 bikes, my '52 Chevy bubba truck that Im rebuilding. Work consumes the rest of my life with fiber optic and copper cables -

It sounds like you have a Merlin Legend.
That might actually have a small amount of value to a reseller. Check to see if the phones have numbers on the front of them like "MLX-10".

I cleaned out my storeroom ,ended up selling (7) merlin control units (206/410/(1)820& a couple of merlin plus) heck, they even bought all my spirit stuff, but nobody wants legend stuff. They say the market is full of that stuff!
