Guys, anyone know if Telrad will ever fix the 16 dn limitation on ringing? I appreciate there are power issues, but I've lost a deal to an IP Office if I can't increase a RingList to 20+. Also, anyone know if the DECT kit is OK? Other systems I've dealt with have been VERY flaky. I'm not keen on a 'suck it and see' approach! Cheers Andy

I once worked with a system that was programmed in a manner to get past the 16 phone limit.
Lets see if I can explain it:
I once programmed a Telrad AdvanceIP 3 system with PABX MDN Groups that looked like park lines on the receptionist. There were about 40 phones that needed to ring for Sales (huge Motorcycle Dealer). Each button was for a separate MDN Group. There were 9 of these groups, with 16 phones in each group. Group 1 was fwd'd to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, and so on. I strategically set the extensions in each group so that the surrounding desks could hear the ring on each group ring. ie: X344 and X355 are right next to eachother, x344 in grp 1 and x355 in grp 2.
If the receptionist got the call, I would have her park it in one of those groups.
This takes up a whole lot of buttons, but it is a way to do it.
This was a customer that we had almost lost, because various techs could not get their programming right. Our vp came up with the idea, but I found many flaws in the programming.Don't know if it was him, or another tech. anyways,I ended up reprogramming half the system, and I was able to make the customer very happy with their new Telrad, and they are still a customer of the company I used to work for.
I hope this was somewhat understandable. is that a word?
Hope it helps, anyways.
Good Luck,
-Jon

Thanks for the reply Jon - phew, a tough way to get around a simple problem. I can see how it would work in some scenarios however it's a workaround and the customer must really want to keep their Telrad. I've got competitors selling IP Office at just over cost so my cust will never swallow. Andy

I hear ya. I'm actually surprised Telrad hasn't come up with a fix for that as of yet. That is a terrible way to lose a sale.
