Hello All.

We have a CTX670 with 7 cabinets.

last week cabinet #5 has some issues.
the first 4 slots are up and fine, but the following 6 are not working. In the strata software it says that its disabled by fault.

We have Initialized from smart media, changed power supply and still no sign of life from that last 6 slots.

So we have a new cabinet to install and see if that fixes it.
My main question is how is it possible for 6 out of 10 slots to go bad? and the other 4 be just fine.
thanks in advance.
Ken

What cards are in this cabinet? Also recheck the ribbon cable.
Just for grins put a PIOU card in the slots and check for power with the led.

Have you tried pushing the breaker buttons on the power supply of that cabinet?

I take it you are using 240VAC to power up the system. Instead, try using 2 power bars connected to 2 separate 120V circuits. We had this problem with our cabinets running off of 240V and using 120V solved it.

Well we ended up replacing the whole cabinet. Boy did that open up a can of worms. we ended up having 3 other cabinets go down. Finally we got them all back up, just loose ribbon cables going to the processor. In conclusion that cabinet must have just gone bad, or the 6 slots because the replacment seemed to fix it.
Just not a lot of fun to lift up 4 cabinets to pull out 1 and put a new one in.
