I know Toshiba has the door phones (MDFB w/DDCB) but does it have the ability to use a door strike, to unlock a door? If so, what system is able to handle it. Thanks ahead of time.

I do not know this system, But if there is an existing door strike. They normally take a contact closure to activate. If your system has a relay that follows a page port. You can use this as your door strike, if the rating for the circuit is too high. It can be used to control a slave relay. I have done this on many different systems. ------------------ BIGDOG3c PARALLEL TECHNOLOGIES INC. WWW.ABUGSEYEVIEW.COM

Would you then be able to use a button or number code to unlock the door? I want to be able to talk to someone thru the MDFB and then allow them thru the door.

You might want to consider using a Viking RC-2A touch tone controller connected to the system through a CO line port. This thing is made for such an application and has relay contacts that are rated for higher current than a lot of KSU contacts. It can have the security code feature disabled so that just a digit or two are required to activate it.

You can talk to the person on the Toshiba doorphone and unlock the door using a button or a code.

I have been feverishly searching for the code on a DK 280 to control the relay on a PIOU so you can unlock the door from a S/L phone. The customer has a POT cordless on an analog port, but i cant seem to locate the #XXX code to perform this function. I looked through my R.4 manual to no avail... please help!!!
