Sounds right!
I’m out of options here. The only other things I can suggest is to unplug your phone from the jack and then plug it back in and/or re-boot the phone system. Not sure if either one will make a difference, but I don’t; know what else for you to try!

Hrm yes .
is it supposed to look like:
#656 ID CODE SET9131
,..,., like there is no space between SET and where I start typing and there is no break between 91 and 31?

That phone works with a couple of model systems. Let me ask you this, when you did the #656 code, were you able to get through the whole sequence and see data programmed on your display?

OK. Do you know what phone system you have? If you know where it is, look at the outside of the box on the right hand side for a DK then numbers. Maybe we aren’t giving you the right code!?!? If you give me the model of your phone I might be able to tell from that too. The model number will be on the bottom and will be an EKT or DKT with a 4-digit number then a letter(s) at the end: i.e. DKT2010-S

In speed dial 49, I had my cell phone. I've cancelled that speed dial now. still not working.
I tried setting the #656 91ext a few times .... no dice...
My display says CF-BN: 31-850
(My extenstion is 31)
In testing I have been taking an outside line, calling the company and dialing my extension, but I tried from my cell phone as well with the same result.
I am pulling my hair over this!
I appreciate your time and assistance

OK. Did you cancel the VM ID code then try re-setting it? The reason calls go back to the main greeting is because the VM doesn’t know where to send it, hence why you need to set the VM ID code. But, if that code got messed up, you will need to cancel what is there and re-do it.
To cancel VM ID code:
Int.
#656
Redial
SPKR
To set VM ID code:
Int.
#656
91
Your extension number
Redial
SPKR
You may need to set it more than once for it to take.
Also set the MSG ID code:
Int.
#657
92
Your extension number
Redial
SPKR
Does your display say CFBN – 850 as well?
What is programmed in speed dial 49?
When you say it loops you back to the main greeting, do you mean on any call transferred to your phone or if you call your phone from another phone? Reason I ask is because if you are in VM and try to dial your extension from your phone, it won’t work. The VM is “smart†in that it won’t let you dial your own extension if you are calling from your own extension.

=) Yes I really went to town on the phone.
Is there any way to just reset the whole thing altogether? LOL
I used speed dial 49 as suggested in a manual I obtained
Yes I tried cancelling 601 thru 604 and setting #656 9131 and 604 850 - no dice, still just loops me back into the main greeting.
Yes I dial 850 to get to the VM system and yes my colleague's phone has CF-BN 850 set

Corey..
WOW!!!!
You have a lot of different things going on here!!!
Did you try removing the ID codes and forwarding and starting again like I suggested in my post?
The #670 is for external call forwarding which you don’t need. To take that one off do the following:
With the handset on the hook press your INT/ERXT button then #670 then the SPKR button. The Bunnie was right in how to cancel the other call forwards: INT/EXT button then # plus the code (601-604) then SPKR. This removes any call forwarding you have on the phone. Does your phone have a display? If so, once you do the cancel codes it should just display the ext. number of your phone, the date and time.
What is the speed dial for and did you program it as a personal or system speed dial?
When you call VM, do you dial 850 on your phone or do you dial say 500 or something to get to VM? When you call forward your phone and set the ID codes, you need to know the extension number for VM.
There is no query feature for you to see how another phone is programmed. That would be just too easy! What you could do, if another phone has a display, is see what their call forwarding is set to. In the display it will show something like CFBN or CFN then a – and then a number. That number is what you want to use in the call forward and ID programming.
Let’s start here and see where we end up!

Hi Amy
Thanks for writing
Um, I was using lots of different keystrokes, mostly #656 and #601's thru #604 I also assigned a speed dial to 49 , and used #670 trying to get the CF-EXT working.
It's still not working for me,,,,I've tried lots of different things into the #656...am using #604 > 850 for the forward...
After this I'll never mess around with another phone, ugh
Is there any way to "query" another phone to see what it's #656 value is set to ?

Hello,
Amy DeBruyne has sent you the following message through Telephone Tech Talk:
--------------------
Hi there! The ID codes would still need to be programmed even if it is an Amanda VM system. I know you have had a lot of stuff thrown at you. Do you remember what sequence of buttons you were pushing when the forwarding stopped? Amy
