We really need to be careful about throwing stones, especially here in a forum with a worldwide audience.

If you heard that SBC bought AT&T, then that's something that can be posted here. If you heard that that at&t bought Cingular, that's great information that can also be posted here. How about "Hey, I heard that at&t just bought BellSouth". That kind of information is safe territory, but that's it. If it's in the news or trade publications, then by all means, share it with the rest of us. We welcome that information so much that we have recently formed a new category for it called "Telecom News".

Speculation, regardless of sources, really isn't welcome here. We are here to assist others, not to spread panic based upon undocumented or secret information. We really don't want to be a part of that.

Sorry, J2Telnoob. It's not that we don't value your (or anyone's) input here, but we can't go around spreading this kind of information without some proof of these allegations. There are legal ramifications that must be considered when making statements such as yours in a public environment.

Feel free to visit here as often as you like. You'll get a ton of assistance and we won't shun you, but we need to do what we can to protect the interests of manufacturers, their dealers and the owners of this forum from harm due to hearsay. We trust that you will understand this position.

Understood Ed.

Toshiba Bob, I believe the phrase you were looking for was 'defamation of character'.

Defamation \Def`a*ma"tion\, n. [OE. diffamacioun, F.
diffamation. See {Defame}.]
Act of injuring another's reputation by any slanderous
communication, written or oral; the wrong of maliciously
injuring the good name of another; slander; detraction;
calumny; aspersion

'Deformation of character' doesnt really make sense, and attacking me personally isn't necessary. :nono:

I was not slandering them maliciously and I thought I made that clear.

I'm not a Toshiba hater or anything guys, on the contrary I like their products and have a good bit of time and energy vested in that company, and this isnt something thats going to happen immediately
I also stated multiple times that I was expressing my opinions. Maybe if you read my posts instead of getting heated over it you would have seen that.

Ed I apologize for the posts as I had not considered the potential legal concerns that it may raise. Perhaps deleting the topic would be best.

I agree with Ed this is a forum that all can come to and get info on solving problems that others may some insight on not a place to start rumors. A LIPU card can already do 16 ports with the added piggy back card. and guess what the business world we work in today anything is possible so why worry about tomorrow when today is here for us to enjoy

Well as they say, when be prepared for when they move your cheese..........

Still, until then, its business as usual for us here.

Actually the LIPU card can do 16 by itself and 32 with a piggy back correct?

It must have been the 16 port GIPH that was pushed back. We dont have many 40's out there though so this is not a huge loss.

I recommend checking out Toshiba's financial profile for anyone interested in getting a feel for where we fall in the overall Toshiba picture. We are a small piece of a small piece of a suprisingly large pie.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Look at Panasonic, Samsung, and NEC. Their business phones division is small fish compared to their consumer electronics and other stuff that they do.

scary being such a small piece, only means it wouldnt be as big of a deal to get rid of the telephone division...

I think the key is advertising, every time I see a cisco comercial showing there phones or even a tv show with cisco phones prominently displayed I want to throw a brick at my Toshiba television..

If toshiba would just advertise and let people know that they have a telephone division, sales would skyrocket....

A comercial that showes of all there products including phones would be awesome .....
