I have a CTX670, processor is a BECU1A. Other cards installed; (2) BDKU

I am attempting to connect the CTX670 to an external paging system via Page PAC 20 control unit w/ the Page PAC 20 amplifier (both units are connected together).

Does this require a BIOU? Or is there another way around this? Am I missing anything in programming? Im using WinAdmin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You would need a BIOU or you could use an open CO line port such as from an RCOU.

If you use the RCOU, it will allow you to use zone paging more easily. I was never the best at paging systems but, using the RCOU has made my life a lot easier.

Thanks for the help...

I am fairly new to this system, can anyone provide me the programming changes that will need to be made.

I created a new CO Line, Line 7.

I created a new outgoing line group, is this right so far?

The only problem with using a CO trunk for paging is you can't include it in an all-page. Also, the Page Pac will need to provide battery. Don't forget to enable cut-through on that trunk port.

Or, you could use a Page Industries page port adapter PI-DKT-R, which emulates a DKT and provides a paging interface. We use them quite frequently. Makes for easy day / night ringing over paging. Mike
