Hi Guys we appear to be having problems with Lvmu/Gvmu's defaulting, it appears that they just back to a default state after about 2 years for no apparent reason, the battery link is on and the customers are not reporting power cuts, there are a number of theories, one is the battery just dies or that the eprom can only be written to so many times. Has anyone else had similar problems? Thank you in advance

Welcome to the Forum Rob. I would check the battery with a meter and see what it shows.

Would they just lose their programming if the battery was dead even if there had been no power downs of the switch ?, we re-programmed one and it was ok for a day then went again, i believe our workshop have tested the batteries and they appear to be ok

Although it's not happened to me yet with those units, I know there are reports of other techs and dealers who have experienced what you're going through. I would suggest notifying tech support of the problem.

We have tried reporting to Toshiba Uk but they are not very forthcoming with an answer for the fault or a cure, many thanks for your responses

RobB, does this happen to be the same system that has the Tis16S2 MSG light problem?

Had the same problem with a gvmu and a ctx 28 but both would shut down then come back defaulted, sent both in for repair and lasted 6 months then same problem again. Replaced with 40 all is well.
