Hello, last week I removed a Toshiba Strata CTX28 from a location we were closing and reinstalled it in a location where the old Panasonic system had been failing ( some extensions didn’t work, voicemail was only working when it wanted too etc.). I have some experience with Mitel, older partner and Merlin phone systems so using Winadmin I was able to adapt the system programming to the current location. The voice mail and system attendant setup also went ok. I would like to set some stations to delayed ringing and restrict some extensions from dialing outside but, those are future goals.
The problem I am having is getting the system to open an electric strike for a door.
There is no phone at the door; it’s a simple 24 volt circuit that is normally open and closing the circuit with a button or relay energies the solenoid. The wires are mounted on the screw down terminals under the MOH RCA jack in the cabinet. I have read through the programming and installation manuals and did a search on this forum but still can’t seem to get it to work.
In form 104 field 12 (door unlock timer) I left the default of 6
In form 508 (door lock control) field 00 I selected 1 from the drop down menu for the door lock # . In field 01 I selected BIOU for the interface type. In field 3 relay number I selected 1 from the drop down menu.
In form 515 BIOU (control relay assignments) field 00 (labeled BIOU 1 or 2) I selected 1 from the drop down menu . In field 01 I entered “DOOR LOCK†I believe I had to type this in.
In form 205 I assigned a key for door unlock (door # 1) to a station. I also tried dialing #12 from the phone.
Am I missing a step someplace ? As I am not that familiar with the Winadmin software or the CTX28 system configuration newbie friendly help would be appreciated. Unfortunately calling in a distributor isn’t an option at this time because of financial concerns.
Thanks in advance.

I found the answer to this.
in form 508 field 3; the relay # should be set to 5 just like the CTX100. The manuals all mention this setting for the CTX 100 but do not say anything the CTX 28
