My co-worker sitting next to me has the same phone and he gets caller ID but I do not see the callers name until I actually pick up the phone which defeats the purpose of having caller ID.
Please help I am a newbie!!!

Dpaz

That's the model number of the desk phone. The system that powers the desk phone is what we'll need from you to properly help you. Can you find out?

Try this, press the Mode button located under the display and then dial 61. This should turn on the caller id display.

This did not help. It did say display mode on but I'm still not seeing who the caller is until I pick up the phone. Any other suggestions?

How do you receive calls? Is the automated attendant transferring the incoming calls to you?

All of the calls come in to one number which rings at all of our desks. Whoever is available answers it.

When a call is ringing in, do the line buttons flash red, green or not at all on your telephone set? What about the sets where the CID works?

I have to actually push the button connected to the line that is ringing. My co workers just pick up the phone and can talk immediately.

That's the reason. Your phone will need to ring.

You're going to need a tech to come out and do that for you since it involves system programming.

I have this phone, the DKT 2010 SD and I did that to change it to information mode (61) and it is still not showing. My phone does ring. What else can I do to get it to work?

Yes, I think so. It is the DKT 2010 SD which the user above mentioned that his co-workers get the caller id to work. Also I set-up / ordered caller id through my phone company, Century Link.

Your phone system has to be carded for caller ID , The DK systems don't do caller ID with out the caller ID card in the system

I don't know, I remember hearing something like Centrex. It is a two line system, don't know if this helps.

Would a circa 1997 DK40 system have caller ID potential? I turned information mode on at the attendant console and dialed in from my cell - no number showed up.

It is possible, but you have to install either a TCIU circuit board in the base cabinet or an RCIU in the expansion cabinet (if installed).
