I have a CTX100 phone system with 8 CO lines.

I have line 8 as a direct call in line with AA. When someone is on line 8, no one else can call in, obviously. Is there any way that I can have the AA to transfer the call to, say, line 7 and it will dial the extension?

Ex, if I call the number and enter extension 224, the AA will transfer me to line 7 and dial 224.

Is this possible?

If line 8 returns a busy signal if you call it and it's already in use, then the phone company is returning the busy tone and the call never even makes it to the CTX. Therefore, it's not possible for the CTX to move the call to another line. What if you instead prevented users from accessing line 8 for outbound calls?

What I was wondering, since it is AA, one someone dials 2xx, it will transfer the call to line 7 and make the call.

No. The phone system can not move a caller to another line. When the call is sent from the telephone company to a specific line, then there is no way for the system to move the caller to another line.

When the comapny puts the lines in a hunt group, if one of the lines is busy, the phone company will route the caller to another line in the hunt. The phone company conrtols how the calls come into the phone system. The CIX controls where the caller goes after that.

As Phonemister said, you could try to keep line 8 open by keeping people from using it for outgoing, or even use 2 lines, 7 and 8, on auto attendant.
