I have a station manual for a Starplus SPD 1428 & SPD 2856 Vodavi Comm system. The phone guy was just here and programmed the phone too ring but of course didnt set it up to answer automatically.

Have never programmed a Vodavi 1428/2856 before---then you may want to contact a local Vodavi tech. This feature is not in a User Guide, but is part of the system programming --best done or at least supervised by an experienced tech. There may be password issues too. I see you are in CA---DrPBX may be close by. Maybe he'll chime in here and have some ideas for you. Rockford VoIP
