I have a customer that wants to change their greetings, both open and close. I set up the orginal system and everything was working perfectly. Now when they try to make a new greeting, it won't work. They followed the direction on page 11 of the quick start guide. Deleted the orginal message (sys confirmed the deletetion)and recorded the new message. Now comes the fun part, when they test the message thru the auto attendant it plays the new recording, but when they call in from an outside line, it plays the old (deleted)greeting.
Any Ideas?????

Well it's obviously not deleting the old greeting or it wouldn't play, are the saving the new greeting after recoding it? Go to Part C of programming manual to get a more complete discription of recording the attendant greeting. I wouldn't think you'd need to delete the old message, just re-record, but I could be wrong.

Are you sure in the auto attendant settings have both open and close set for different greetings? It is usually set up with greeting 01 for open and greeting 02 for closed, but it can be changed to any other greeting.

How is the line set to ring to the voice mail? Perhaps there is a preset voicemail ID setup in flash 40, page b, button 6?

I got it working. The problem was that the person doing the greetings was misreading the directions.
I caught it the second time through.
Thanks for your efforts

Ahhh, not following the instructions. I will agree that I never read the instructions until after it doesn't work (like assembling furniture).
While it sounds like a simple mistake, and it is, think about how much time was spent trying to put out a fire that ended up being a case of not paying attention. Maybe that's why I heard that phrase so much in school.
Thank you for letting us know the outcome and welcome to the club. This issue may seem trivial, but we all learn from others' mistakes or oversights.
