A new customer has a Starplus STS system that line 4 won't go on hold, it just hangs up on caller if put on hold and also on line 4 if the caller can hear the customer cant or sometimes its vice versa. I haven't worked on a Vodavi system yet. If it's too deep we can walk away from it. Thanks,

Doug

Have you tested line 4 before the ksu ?

Could be bad co port in ksu, but doubt it.

Have you went on site and had line 4 fail ?

I was told the phone company was out and tested the line coming in for line 4 and found no faults. I did not test before the ksu. They are able to use line 4 but the problem is intermittent. It happens quite often, but not all of the time. Thanks for your help.

I doubt IF the problem will clear its self.
So be ready to go on site and ask a bunch of questions.

Your gonna have to become a bird dog on this one,
checking all angles and putting the puzzle together.

You could flop the co ports on the ksu, and see
if the trouble goes with the port in the ksu.
(Reverse trk 3 with 4.) temporary.

Good luck and take care of that customer smile

I would try swapping co ports 3 and 4 if the trouble moves then you know your system is OK and the trouble is somewhere else. Also see if they have added DSL service to that line. Having DSL and no filter may cause audio problems. Like the guy said you may have to work at this one.

New to this site. How do I start a new topic?
I have a customer with an STS that has caller ID blocked on lines 9, 10, and 11 on outbound calls to customers. Sounded like a CO line issue to me but Verizon was called, they say its in the phone system.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Kirk

Look down underneath the big message reply box. There is a button to "post new topic".
