My office phone system is hung in a loop. I can connect to it with a serial cable and null modem. the message I get is
Hard start entry
CPU test, passed
ROM checksum test, passed
RAM block 0 test, passed
RAM block 1 test, passed
Clearing "zerovars" RAM
Starting system initialization
Detecting system options
Defaulting PP board tables
Initializing OS process timeout values
Calculating existing memory checksums
Allocating prot/local db
Soft start entry
Starting system initialization
Detecting system options
Initialization for user mode
Initializing OS timer lists
Initializing serial streams & OS process list
Hard start entry
CPU test, passed
ROM checksum test, passed
RAM block 0 test, passed
RAM block 1 test,

every thing was working fine, and my ups started beeping. I turned it off and replaced it, was wanting a larger one anyway. When I turned my phone system back on, all the phones just sat in sync mode. I got out my manual and found out how to connect my laptop, and that's the message, over and over.

If resetting won't work you will probably have to re-initialize the system, of course that will put everything back to default programming. Sounds like either the memory battery is shot or the data base is corrupt.

Yes it is in the manual. Section 3 in the installation manual. When you're done make sure the memory battery is on, it could be bad so you may want to check it with a meter when you turn the system off. Hopefully it's just a corrupt data base.

I don't think you use a null cable to connect.

Had to, the straight through cable wouldn't connect. I used a nine pin null modem adapter. Connected. Thanks for the info.

Bill,
I got the system out of the loop. How do I get a copy of the Win DBA software if I'm not a dealer? Do I need to just sign up as a dealer?

I don't know of any place other than the dealer site. To be honest I think you'll find it just as easy to just use an admin phone for most programming, you only need a laptop for the complex stuff and voice mail initalization and setup.

Thanks Bill, It's up and running now. Just a little more fine tuning and I'm done. I was mainly interested in the Windba software, because of all the documentation in the manual about it. Thanks again.

I am working with a Vodavi XTS iP system and it appears that i need to have PC Admin software for the voice mail TalkPath and KSU. Is this through and where can i acquire a copy of the software. I'm a do it yourself tech. No experience with the XTS iP. Thanks in Advance.
