Have a older Vodavi Mach dual cabinet but the phones don't connect. the display regesters(don't recall exactly) ver. and that's it no lights or anything else. Have at one time in the far far past programed one of these but no access any clues.

The battery on the backplane is probably dead. the only way to fix this, is default the system. Replace the battery and reload the database.

I agree. If the KSU lost power even briefly, the database needs to be defaulted to wipe the spotty data from the system. You will immediately return the system to operation but it will be at factory default. Unless you replace the battery, it will happen every time you lose power.

A dead battery is not going to keep the system from initializing. If you can't default it then something else is wrong.

I agree with Derrick. Dead battery doesn't have any effect on whether it boots. Being that the db is lost, did you flip dip switch 8 and battery switch off?; then reboot system? Wait for the led's to 'level out' for about 30 seconds. Then flip the 2 switches back? It should boot back up again. If power goes off, you're back to where you are now.
Tip and ring, the work of the devil!

Do as A6 says. You do not need a battery to reinitialize. But if the battery is bad and you try to reboot with everything in the save mode, it won't boot because the data is incomplete. Because you have now done the above, I think your KSU is bad.
