Help Please !! I am installing a NEC Xen Axis (48 Port) Key System with Basic Rate ISDN. This system is known as "Xen Axis" in Australia & New Zealand & the KSU is NEC Product B48-U13 KSU.
I am familiar with the older NEC AK & DK systems, but this is my first Xen. I have received this system from an interstate dealer who has apparently "Pre-Programmed it". I didn't receive any programming record so I'm not sure how it is set-up.
The problem is all incoming calls within the customers indial range ring at CAP and the SLT fax regardless of the number called (Cust indial range is something like 5555 5300 - 5555 5399). Indial calls to individual extns don't ring at all, ie calling 5555 5303 doesn't ring extn 103
I have checked DID received digit to station conversion in Prog LK1 1/22 & note received digit 0X routes to extn 10X respectively. LK1 1/20 DID digit length selection is set to 2 digit.
The central answering point (CAP) is extn 100 which is set to ring on DID received digits 00 (5555 5300)
An exception is a fax machine connected as SLT extn 108 which routes from received digits 99. (ie outside caller rings 5555 5399 which rings on SLT extn 108)
The problem is all incoming calls ring at CAP and the fax regardless of the number called (Cust indial range is 5555 5300 - 5555 5399).
The ISDN trunks appear on line 1-4 keys on digital phones. I checked Day ring assignment (LK4/01) and set the fax & CAP to "No ring", but that blocks all audible ring. I assumed that the day ring programming only applied to CO analog lines & the DID programming would overide it. Now I'm very confused. I can't have the fax machine tripping ring for all incoming calls and would appreciate any advice.
The NEC manual I have only gives a System data list (memory block data). I need further detail like the "Programming Procedure" detail in the AK / DK manuals. I would also appreciate any step by step set-up notes if anyone could spare a copy.
Thanks in advance
Mick
