I am looking to connect remote single person offices to an IPK system using VOIP. The remote offices have either DSL or Cable Modem Internet access. Will the IAD-U10 ETU VOIP Gateway plus ITH-16D Phones do this effectively? Will I need a special router at the remote locations? Does the phone get assigned an IP address for communicating with the IAD or does it use another signaling method?

you will need version 3000 or above software on your system to accomplish this. You will also need to flash the phone with the correct version of firmware. You will need to have a vpn capable router to make a vpn tunnel to the host (iad) but there seems to be a quality issue with this architicture. If possible a point to point would be your best solution.

Hello All,
I'm a newbie in desperate need of your help.... So you're saying that it is possible to do VoIP without a Poin-to-Point if we have the right soft version and firmware? If so, how do I find out what version of soft and firmware I have? My scenirio is two NEC AID cards on a firewall to firewall VPN on two different ISPs(Covad and ATT).
Please advise,

Abraham
