All of the fax machines go through the phone system. The thing is when i call the fax line directly, i get a busy signal.

Or someone may have dialed a number without dialing 9 first and accidently set call forwarding.

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by nik: How can check if the line is on DND and how can i take it off DND?</font> Nik, Chrislebeck was asking you on this exact topic. If you know the fax extension number, just dial it from any display handset. It will say if it's on DID. If you don't, pick up the fax handset, and dial a display station, it will show you (on the display station) what the fax extension is. Then dial that (fax) extension from any of your display station, it will then give you the status of your fax extension. Now, if your fax is setup so that it dials "9" or an trunk access automatically, then you will have to check with your installer or sys administrator as to what the fax extension is, and find out the status of that extension as described by Chris.

Thanks guy for all your help. I'm finally at the site and I found out the that the fax ext. is on DND. What would be the program code to take the DND out for this fax ext. using "Feature #0*8974"

That feature code you listed is for programming the system data and I think that code is not reccommended as it sets some flags that can cause problems.
You need to use the dial access code for cancelling DND which is 42 by default.
Of course whoever installed the system may have changed the access code and you will have to go into programming and find it.
