Hi there,

We just bought what I was told was a one-year-old system (NEC Electra Elite 48). Having read through some posts, it looks like it might be older than that.

In any event, after paying a "professional" for 6 hours of time to install the system, we basically just have phones that ring. None of this system's features seem to be working right.

To make matters worse, we don't have a manual, so I am beholden to the installer.

If you could tell me where I can get a manual , I would really appreciate it. (I am in Northern CA).

Thanks!

?? What does profile mean? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm not a technical person)

You can get a manual off of eBay or several places online. Also, you can go to the NEC site and find a local dealer.

I am also in California (central coast). Where specifically are you? (i.e. which city?) If you're near the Bay Area I may either be able to refer a competent and professional tech, or help you myself.

If you have a specific question / feature in mind, you can post it and I'll try to answer. Hope that helps somewhat...

Thanks for the responses. I need a rep. who is local to Pleasanton. Mine just advised us that he charges a 2 hour minimum (never discussed). Problem is, he apparently charges it even when he comes back to fix things that were not done right on the prior visit (like forgetting to set up voice mail). That means I have to pay a 2-hour minimum even if the first visit took 10 minutes and another 2-hour minimum if he comes back to do something that could and should have been done the first time. I don't mind paying for service -- but this isn't right.

Any NEC reps. in Pleasanton? If so, please let me know.

Thanks.

I recommend John Galt Communication, out of Alameda (also offices in Livermore, Hayward, and Oakland).

I believe that the Account Rep. in the Alameda office is Lynn Evans. Tell her that Salinas Telephone referred you. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Their number is 510-718-0128.

Ask for a tech named "Andy." He's their best tech on Elite, including advanced programming.

Actually, our phone number is 510.728.0128. And no, we don't have a 2 hour minimum, and we guarantee our work. We'll even teach you how to do things so you can be independant of us in the future (!)

Information is free, knowledge is nice, but only expertise has value. Give me a call and I'll be happy to do whatever I can to get your system up and running [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
